Polisi Australia mengatakan tiga orang tewas setelah hujan lebat dalam beberapa hari ini membanjiri beberapa kota di bagian timur laut Australia.

Jenazah dua pria ditemukan hari Senin (28/1), satu di ibukota Queensland, Brisbane, dan satu lagi di Gympie, lebih jauh ke utara. Jenazah seorang pria tua ditemukan sebelumnya dekat kota Bundaberg.

Helikopter digunakan untuk menyelamatkan 18 orang dari atap rumah-rumah mereka di Bundaberg. Operasi penyelamatan masih terus dilakukan.

Polisi Queensland mengatakan banjir juga melanda kota-kota Gladstone dan Ipswich.
